Community Sharing

The Community Services Board collects food items and other sundry items for the homeless shelter.  Bring items you wish to donate to church on Sunday  and leave them in the designated box in the narthex, or bring by the church office during the week.  Following are the specific items they collect each month.  

We will be collecting canned or dry milk and dry cereal, and razors and shaving cream during the month of January.

We will have a ‘potluck’ donation during the month of February/March/April.  Canned tuna, chicken or beef, bags of rice or beans, Vienna sausages, hot cocoa mix, as well as remember some of the things we’ve collected over the past year, and add them to the blue tub in the church narthex (canned tuna, chicken or beef, bags of rice or beans, Vienna sausages, hot cocoa mix, as well as Ziplock® bags & paper towels, toothpaste and tooth brushes, bar soap, shaving cream, etc.).

The Community Service Board will be collecting canned fruit and vegetables, bag of rice and beans, combs and brushes during the month of May.

We will be collecting spaghetti sauce, pasta, and canned tuna, chicken or beef, and Ziplock® bags and paper towels during the month of June.

We will be collecting baby formula, baby food and diapers during the month of July.

We will be collecting Vienna sausages, peanut butter and jelly, and toothbrushes and toothpaste during the month of August.   

We will be collecting canned soup and stew, and shampoo and bar soap during the month of September.

We will be collecting canned or dry milk and dry cereal, and razors and shaving cream during the month of October.   

For the month of November we will be collecting items for holiday dinners.  The following items will be greatly needed and gratefully accepted:  broth, canned cranberries, canned fruit cocktail and apple sauce, Jiffy bread mixes, instant potatoes, boxed stuffing, canned corn, beans and olives, instant and canned gravy, and canned yams.  Please place your donations in one of the collection boxes placed near the Preschool office, each Day School classroom, and in the Narthex by Sunday, November 13.

Funds will be collected for pies, and for gift food certificates of $20.00 to be given to seniors who can not use a full turkey meal.

For the month of December we will be collecting items for holiday dinners.  The following items will be greatly needed and gratefully accepted:  broth, canned cranberries, canned fruit cocktail and apple sauce, Jiffy bread mixes, instant potatoes, boxed stuffing, canned corn, beans and olives, instant and canned gravy, and canned yams.  Please place these items in the blue tub in the church narthex by Sunday, December 10.  The Homeless Shelter has expressed a need for diapers and baby wipes.  Donations of these items will be delivered there.
